As a dad, I think often about the stories we pass down to our children and what gets lost along the way. I treasure recordings of my great-grandmother discussing life in Minnesota with my grandmother. Hearing their voices, their laughter, and their stories has always felt like a gift, a rare glimpse into who they were and where our family comes from– A gift I wish my daughter had. She never had the chance to meet her namesake grandmother—a woman whose strength, love, and wisdom I wish she could experience firsthand.
